Crude Oil
Crude Oil futures for December settled down -$.37 or -.384% at $96.09. Oil prices extended their losses on Tuesday following a dramatic drop of over 7% in the previous session. Although prices attempted a modest early recovery toward $97 on fears that Washington and Tehran remain far from a comprehensive peace deal, selling pressure dominated after targeted overnight U.S. defensive strikes against Iranian surface-to-air sites on Qeshm Island proved limited in scope.
Natural Gas
Natural Gas futures for December settled up $.039 or 1.366% at $2.895. Natural gas prices nudged up today as contracting output and a marginally colder weather outlook provided mild support. Weekend supply pullbacks, most notably across the Appalachia shale basin, hinted that producers may be curtailing output in response to an enduringly soft price landscape.
