Crude Oil
Crude Oil futures for December settled down -$1.86 or -1.828% at $99.90. Oil prices fell on Tuesday as fresh diplomatic momentum generated hope for resolving the US-Iran war and reducing energy market strains. Statements from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei urging an end to the ambiguous "neither war nor peace" stance helped drive expectations for formal talks, backed by a Tehran summit between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey alongside planned discussions involving President Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Qatar's emir in Moscow.
Natural Gas
Natural Gas futures for November settled up $.095 or 3.651% at $2.697. Natural gas prices managed a small uptick today, bouncing slightly off a two-year low as traders stepped in to buy after recent heavy market drops. Unseasonably warm fall weather across most of the central and eastern United States continues to keep home heating demand light, which typically puts downward pressure on fuel prices heading into the colder months.
