Crude Oil

Crude Oil futures for November settled down -$3.22 or -3.477% at $89.38. Oil prices fell on Tuesday following a fresh US emergency reserve authorization and recovering Saudi Arabian export flows. The Department of Energy announced an exchange offering up to 40 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), requiring corporate borrowers to return approximately 200 million barrels over the coming year, a roughly 20% premium, with bids closing October 6th.

Natural Gas futures for November settled down -$.095 or -3.059% at $3.011. Natural gas prices extended their decline into a third consecutive session amid forecasts indicating moderate weather-driven heating and cooling demand.
