Crude Oil

Crude Oil futures for November settled up $2.45 or 2.658% at $94.61. Oil prices are up this Thursday after pulling back from a peak of $97 as signs emerged that US and Iranian negotiators might be seeking a framework to restore Persian Gulf shipping flows. Market volatility spiked earlier after Iran-aligned Houthi forces launched missile strikes targeting Saudi cities including Taif and the crucial Red Sea oil terminal of Yanbu.

Natural Gas

Natural Gas futures for October settled up $.274 or 9.064% at $3.297. Natural gas prices climbed today to mark a fresh high since July 8 following an EIA inventory report that confirmed a tighter-than-average injection. Domestic stockpiles expanded by 53 billion cubic feet for the week ended September 18, trailing both last year's 77 bcf build and the 76 bcf five-year average as late-summer heat elevated power-sector cooling demand.
