Crude Oil
Crude Oil futures for October settled down -$.13 or -.158% at $82.23. Oil prices slipped on Tuesday but are stabilizing after two consecutive sessions of declines due to easing supply concerns from increased Persian Gulf flows. Market sentiment was lifted after US President Donald Trump stated that roughly 10 million barrels crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, backed by satellite data indicating Saudi Arabia may be ramping up terminal loadings inside the Gulf.
Natural Gas
Natural Gas futures for September settled up $.072 or 2.599% at $2.842. Natural gas prices jumped today due to updated Commodity Weather Group forecasts predicting hotter conditions and above-average temperatures across the Gulf, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions from August 30 through September 8, lifting US natural gas to $2.80/MMBtu and rebounding from a one-week low.
