Crude Oil
Crude Oil futures for October settled down -$2.65 or -3.117% at $82.36. Oil prices fell on Tuesday due to signs of easing geopolitical friction between the US and Iran. Backchannel diplomacy gained traction as Pakistan's army chief visited Tehran while Qatar continued mediation, reinforced by indications that Washington might soon return evacuated diplomats to the region.
Natural Gas
Natural Gas futures for September settled down -$.012 or -.431% at $2.770. Natural gas prices dipped today due to strong production in the Lower 48 states averaging a record 111.5 bcfd and gas inventories sitting 6.7% above seasonal norms, pushing US natural gas down to around $2.75/MMBtu.
